Emissions.  My '85 failed at TDC, passed easily at 5ATDC.  It does run
better advanced, but the idle control isn't as good--after all, the idle is
controlled by advancing or retarding the idle.   At TDC it controls much
better.  It seems to wander a bit at 5BTDC.
