I agree that the round 7" Hellas are they way to go when you consider all the factors. If you have a 1980-1985 Vanagon you can uprgade to quailty H4s for less than $90 in an hours time. All three of my car have the exact same setup. One pair of round 7" Hella H4s each. I suppose I could even outfit my ancient Honda motorcycle with a Hella 7" H4 headlamp. DOT lamps are absolute garbage. It sounds like the SA grill quality is poor and unless you do alot of highspeed backwoods driving I doubt the inner lamps would get much use. Heck, I removed the inner lamps on my 1991 GTi and I haven't missed them a bit. -john '85 Silver Sunroof '91 GTi 2.0 8v '76 BMW 2002 >From: JordanVw@AOL.COM >Reply-To: JordanVw@AOL.COM >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Re: which type of headlight upgrade would you recommend and why? >Date: Wed, 21 Jan 2004 20:20:22 EST > >In a message dated 1/21/04 2:40:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, >vanagon@VOLKSWAGEN.ORG writes: > > > > I would recommend going with the European H4s on the outer lights over >the > > SA H4 stuff.
