As I read my Digifant ProTraining manual, the idle stabilizer is to be checked with oile temp at at least 176 deg F., which means it is NOT isolated with a warm engine. it is still working to move the timing back and forth a few degrees to hold idle stable. AS I understand it, with the engine warm, the idle stabilizer should be isolated from the circuit, and not have ny impact on how the engine idles. But if it is faulty, it very well could, if it is hooked back into the circuit. I currently run with mine disconnected because of that very reason. Disconnected it works great, but connected it makes the engine jerk and buck. There are three areas where the idle stabilizer system becomes active. Cold start Turning the power steering to the stops will kick it on to idle the engine up so the pump load won't stall the engine, When the AC is turned on, it will kick the idle speed up to carry the added load without stalling when stopping at a light or otherwise being slow. Outside of these, if the system is working correctly, there should be no othere impact. The ISV is out of the circuit. Regards, John Rodgers 88 GL Driver Daniel L.
