I've got to admit! , it's down right embarrassing when people come here from
California and tell me that people drive faster here in Texas than on the LA
freeways.
I've been to LA and it's got to be a toss-up.

'Course, the thing about Texas is...it's FLAT.  I can understand why
people in mountainous states would want enough power to maintain highway
speeds up those long grades I see in places like Colorado.
