Hey Kevin, No you do not need to remove the linkage from the tranny. Because of the c-shaped clamp that holds the two pieces together, it crimps the outer bar onto the lower bar. So a little hammering may be in order. If that is the case, it may be better to drop the linkage from the tranny to avoid beating the linkage, which would be slamming the gears in the tranny. Any body know the part # for this on an 87 4spd? Also how do you sperate the front and rear bar? I have undone the clamp but they seem almost welded togeather. Do I have to undo at the tranny end as well? Any tips would be great. Thanks Kevin 87 Westy Burlington VT --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
