Ken,
I believe the sticker is on the under side of the fresh air cross beam above
the clutch pedal toward the door pillar. You have to look up.

  I AM DESPERATELY SEEKING THE PAINT CODE!! can anyone help me?   its

  under the horizontal body beam the glovebox is screwed to, under the

  side dash.. you have to look upside down to see it.   its a 4 letter code
  starting with the letter "L".   vw dealer doesnt know sh*t, its not even
in their
  color books.   this is a one year '89 only, wolfburg only color.
