I'm 6' 1" Andrew, but I have long arms/legs short torso. My arm length is 77". There is usually a coincident arm length and height but I'm "short" for my arm length. (must have been tall in another life) That's why I left off the extension, it runs the shifter into me and puts it too high for my comfort. Bob no one has left the "f" off this thread yet.... :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Gies" <andrew_gies@CANGENE.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2004 7:57 AM Subject: Re: berg shift kit > Can someone who has this kit installed and who is a little taller than > average chime in an opinion on the extension? > > I am 6'4", and for myself, I don't believe the extension would really be > necessary. > > Otherwise - I would be interested this group purchase, although I would > require shipping to Canada. > > Andrew > > -----Original Message----- > From: Bob Stevens [mailto:mtbiker62@HOTMAIL.COM] > Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 11:03 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: berg shift kit > > > Just my own preference/opinion on this kit: putting on the extension > negated > the shorter throw and the crisper feel of shifting I got by adding the > kit. > I don't know the math but: the shifter reduces shift throw by 25% > (advertised); what does the 6" extension add to that distance?
