84 w/1.9, no K&N filter, no SS exhaust system... reading 91 MPH actual 82 MPH on the flat. It don't need to go any faster than that. The brakes won't stop you if anything happens. The van won't protect you if something breaks. Generally I keep it at reading of 80MPH actual 72MPH. tim in san jose where we usually go 30-35 MPH ----- Original Message ----- From: <JordanVw@AOL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, March 05, 2004 1:49 PM Subject: friday...whats the FASTEST youve driven in your vanagon???? > yesterday, coming back from NJ on I-78 i hit 95 MPH in my '84 vanagon w/ 1.9L > wbx K&N air filter, and S&S exhaust system.. i could have gotten it to hit > 100 if the downhill slope would have lasted longer :<) > anyway, whats the fastest speed you've driven in your vanagon?? > please post results, white knuckle stories, speeding tickets and such.. > :<) > > chris >
