The trick to conversion (EFI to carb) is to get a good intake manifold. Try CIP1.com They have set ups for aircooled vans, but they do not recommend their setup for water cooled vans. Calla them. I was VERY fortunate to get a REAL VW intake manifold and I bought a Weber carb and paid BIG for an adapater throat/plat to connect the two. Try searching the archives for "carb" (or carburator) for "stebbins" and you'll learn what I know. I have this debate all the time on this list. guys like Eric Zeno hate carbs. But....... Yes, if you have emissions testing in your state, be carefull. But carbs do not castistrophically fail, then go bad slowly. I delete all of the AFM, ECU, OXI injector posts (about 25% of this list's traffic). And remember to factor all of the upkeep of the EFI into any pollution calculations. I for one like my carb. EFI is a science, Carbs are art. Malcolm (91 syncro Westy in Nova Scotia) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Search - Find what youre looking for faster http://search.yahoo.com
