The list price at the dealer is ~$200. If you get a 20% discount, that
brings it down to ~160. It will carry a lifetime warranty that you can
collect on if you still have the in 100K miles or so if you need it. You
will also encourage VW to keep supplying these things.

Subject: muffler for 88 WBX

Hi everyone,

I changed the tranny fluid in Billy Bones today.
No, I did not put my fancy Redline MT90 in there,
but I did use generic GL-4. I've got a leak
and I aim to repair it before I put in my
Redline (parts ordered today). However, while
under there I decided that my muffler was bad -
those holes were a dead giveaway. How did
I miss them when I had the engine out??? So
now I have the muffler and catalytic converter
off. I purchased a catalytic converter at
O'Reilly's, but their muffler is more than
about 5 and 1/2 inches in diameter, meaning it
won't fit my hangers.

Who sells a muffler that will not only bolt
up, but which will alsol fit the brackets?

Any good prices out there?

Dang, I got ole Billy running but I've yet to
leave the driveway with him because of one
thing or the other. I'm afraid to run him
without a muffler. Don't want to burn something
up.
