why did you take it off????  i installed the canvas on my ex-'86 westy with
the roof on the van..  the only thing i unbolted was the lift bars, at the
bottom, just so i could slip the old canvas off and new canvas on and immediately
rebolted them.    there is no need to remove the roof..   i found it quite
relaxing, as 75% of the job was me laying on my back in the upper bunk screwing.
