I'd call it "in" the front differential! As you have to remove a series of M8 bolts to open the casing of the front differential and have a bucket ready to catch the gear oil in order to get access to the VC. The Syncro Golf / Jetta / Passat has the VC external to the differential. It is part of the drive line and connects to the front diff input shaft flange. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Marshall" <vanagon@VOLKSWAGEN.ORG> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, March 19, 2004 11:07 PM Subject: Re: vc question on syncro > The VC is in the front differential, not the transmission in the rear. > > David Marshall > > Fast Forward Automotive Inc. > 4356 Quesnel-Hixon Road > Quesnel BC Canada V2J 6Z3 > > http://www.fastforward.ca mailto:sales@fastforward.ca > Phone: (250) 992 7775 FAX: (250) 992 1160 > > - Vanagon Accessories and Engine Conversions > - Vanagon, Transporter and Iltis Sales and Importation > - European Lighting for most Volkswagen models > > > Due to the large volume of email we receive, PLEASE include previous > emails when responding.
