The 1.9 will work in place of a 2.1 L with minor mode. HP is hardly
noticable. I've driven one and you would not no any difference.

We bid on and won a motor on ebay that was supposed to be the 2.1 waterboxer. Not knowing any better I went over to St. Paul MN and checked it over the best I could. Turns out it is a 1.9 waterboxer and will not fit in our van. The seller basically ripped us off and would not negotiate with Square Trade. It seems to have good compression and is whole. I still need a motor for the 86 westy and have one to sell the 1.9 that I think fits an 85 vanagon. Any trades information or other suggestions will be appreciated. We want desperately to get back on the road with our ultimate camping van.
