I was once the leadoff witness in a trial.  The defendant's attorney was a
pit bull in a gray flannel suit.  In response to his first question I began my
answer with, "I assume . . ."  The pit bull jumped out of his seat so fast he
bounced off the ceiling.  I never did get to finish.
