The switch in the driver's door lock must tell the central lock pump that
it's time to lock or unlock the doors. If the wire or the switch is bad,
the central locks will still function normally from any other switch because
the vacuum pump still works.

2nd try here..

'90 GL w/ power locks.
problem: yes i CAN unlock all doors (including drivers door) from RF door,
but CAN'T unlock all doors from drivers door.

when i put the key in the RF (pass) door, and turn, i hear the actuator
whirring noise, and the central power lock actuators lock and unlock all the
doors/hatch fine, including the drivers door.
but when i put the key in the drivers doorlock and turn - nothing happens
other than the drivers lock opening.. none of the other doors/hatch opens -
no
whirring noise.
so why can i operate all the locks from the front pass door, but not the
drivers door? bad drivers doorlock actuator? any ideas?
if it is indeed a bad drivers actuator, then why does it open from the RF
pass door?
