Ben, I couldn't agree more, and CA law supports your comments. While courtesy and safety require that on-freeway traffic assist the oblivious, the ignorant, and the underpowered (me in my westy) to the extent that they can without creating another hazard, the merging vehicle is required by law to yield. The driver who blindly aims his car into traffic without even a head turn to assess openings may well be the same driver that does not know the triangilar profile of a yield sign, or perhaps does not know what yield means. CA freeway on-ramps are generally not posted with yield signs, except to direct cross traffic funneling into to on-ramp entry itself. It has been in the CA driver handbook for at least 29 years when I first used it as the standard study guide my class-C drivers license. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/pgs47thru51.htm Philip Chidlaw >> > People don't even look on the dead angle spot???????????????????????? > > They just drive in??????????????? at whatever speed they want??????????????? > What the hell is that, what is the regulation in the state????????????????????? > >
