I use a 4x8 loadrite aluminum trailer for my quad. The vanagon pulls it with ease.. I don't think any rack would hold a quad.. I wouldn't want the weight hanging off the back of the van.. but that is just me.. get a trailer you can use it for other things and use it with other vehicles.... Good luck Shannon 91 Vanagon -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com]On Behalf Of P. The quad weighs about 375 lbs. which is relatively light so i was thinking...why not buy the biggest reciever hitch/bumper and then construct a platform for the quad to 'piggy-back-ride' on the back of my westy. The quad and van would be positioned to look like a Toy Poodle, trying to make love to a Great Dane(or the quad driving up the back of the van, bottom facing the hatchback) I wont be able to access the hatchback but oh well, I dont like dealing with trailers. I also thought of installing airbags to compensate for the weight. I probably would have to buy one of Garys custom welded for the vanagon bike racks as well. link to garys racks:http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2a/rack/vanagonrack.htm i remember someone from the list doing this with a large dirtbike. This is probably going to cost more than a nice motorcycle trailer. Any ideas? thanks Phil ===== Phil 84' Westy...Tiico'ed 00' Cannondale MTB 95' S9 Skateboard 04' New Balance 705 All Terrain's __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
