Seems like the throttle body
clearance is a major problem. About the
only way to get around the physical space restraints that I can
see
is to have an adaptor fabricated, that fits between the throttle
bodies and the plenum, which effectively turns through 90 degrees
and
makes the two throttle body intakes point downwards. Then two
hoses
could be connected and run off to join up with the plastic air box
which is
now mounted to the left side. Would/could that work, do you think?

It's an alternative to making the air box thinner, which could
constrict the air flow and leave the SVX gasping at higher revs.

Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

The factory inlet manifolds will be tuned. ANY alteration of
length or to a lesser degree shape will adversely affect the engine's
performance (at least, on a dyno... you might not be able to tell on
the road). The open space before the inlet venturis is most likely
critical...
