I have no brand names, but I saw some sizable holes and rents repaired in
canvas tents by gluing patches on with a tenacious, quick-drying, flexible
adhesive which was made specifically for that purpose.  The stuff smelled similar to
the odor of a shoe repair shop and you could get a buzz off it from five feet
away even in the great outdoors.  A canvas tent manufacturer would probably
be able to steer you in the right direction as long as the DEA hasn't banned it.
