I have tried to start my West this night and he started like a charm. I drove it for about 20 minutes and stopped the engine and it restarted perfectly. I checked the resistance on the Temp II switch. before starting (2160 ohms when it was cold) . I also checked it after driving for 20 minutes and the reading was 330 ohms. Every things seem to be according to spec. I still do not understand why my Vanagon was so difficult to start last Sunday ( 2 times I had difficulties to restart the engine when hot). I called my mechanic to tell him this problem. He told me it was, may be, because my defective ISCU (disconnect for 1 year). However before he replaces the spark plugs, the distributor cap and the rotor, I was always able to start without any problem in spite of my ISCU disconnected. I am still looking for new ideas. Thank you for all the replies I had so far. In my case, it wasn't the sensor that was bad but the connector had come loose. See if there's a blue plastic connector with a couple of wires (one white, the other white/blue) hanging loose over on the left side, probably around the coolant reservoir. It'll probably look pretty clean on the inside like it has just recently come loose -- mine did. The place where it goes is right under the A/C compressor (hard to see). Once mine was reconnected, the starting problem instantly vanished. It is causing the FI to flood the engine during warm starts. TEMiller Germain wrote: >My Westfalia 87 have a new problem since my mechanic did a tune up on it one week ago. When I quit the garage one week ago, I didn't have any problem to start the engine. When I took it this morning no problem to start it from cold. I drove for about 40 miles and stopped the van for 20 minutes. When I tried to restart it, no way. The starter was working but the motor didn`t want to fire. After many tries when the battery starting to died, I succeeded to restart it. The motor was running great as usual. After that, I drove for 10 miles and stopped for breakfest. The same story happened when I tried to leave from the restaurant parking lot. > >(Thank you to have read my funny english until here) > >Any idea what could be wrong? > >Germain
