FWIW #2.... I changed from a deisel to a gas tranny a couple of years ago when the deisel tranny fell apart. The deisel worked OK, but a bit noisy. Give me the gas one any day. Quieter. faster. Better yet give me a 5 speed so I've got an extra gear to shift into on the freeway! Audi 3A engine swap (after searching the archives) FWIW, Been using the diesel tranny on my conversion for 10 years now. No tranny work been done, the engine is not screaming, I would like another gear mind you, but it works fine.
