Good going John. Speak your mind and get real. Getting Larry back on the road in an emergency such an AIRS assistance to get him back home to his family and job is one thing. Getting him back on the road to continue a trip to VW Events throughout the country is just a useless effort since a repaired engine or new engine doesn't fix a deeper problem that exist. The problem is "What Next"? If he's out of money to repair his engine and continue his trip then it's all over because the Fat Lady just finished singing. Go home Larry. Do the same as we'd all be doing. There is always the simple truth that you really don't know anybody. I've had friends with cancer that expected three years to live and they spent accordingly just synchronizing the 36th month to the expected last of their cash. Naturally the fickle finger of fate gave them another 15 years to regret their spending habits. If Larry is a sick man and just going for his 15 minutes of fame I'm sure I'll get chastised heavily. Offended enough to dress down those people on the list in support of donation, even though it's not the truth. > > Someone mentioned it earlier, but I believe it should be stated again: Larry DID NOT ask for financial help, only for leads on a cheap engine. The donation idea was from members of the list. To criticize me, or anyone else, for doing what I wish with my $$ is shameful at best, although often par for the course on this list. > > john
