Additional benefits of AAA
When planning a trip in your Vanagon or Westy (MVC) you can use your AAA
membership to get free travel planning, free maps, and the AAA guidebooks.
The last time I used that service was online. Ordered the maps and
guides for the states I was planning on being in, they arrived by mail
in two days, big bundle. I refresh the guidebooks whenever I take off
on a long trip or about every two years. Excellent value and their maps
are good. However, I have found that the roadmaps published by some
states may be a little better. I make it a habit to stop at the
"Welcome to (insert state name here)" booths and kiosks. They usually
have free maps and the typical tourist info, often helpful.
