Okay, so you are saying one of your A/C freon lines was disconnected,
this essentially means you have no freon (by whatever formula) in your
system.

Did you evacuate the system after reattaching the coolant line? Did you
check to make sure that AFTER evacuating the system, that it held a
vacuum for a couple of hours. if it didn't you have a leak that needs
to be addressed before your system should be recharged.

A decent vacuum pump runs around $200-250. I got mine from Bestech
(www.bestechind.com). Others are available.
