BTW You almost always get what you pay for,its almost always worth to put some extra money on high quality products ! With the E-codes you get a lightpattern that is almost like a flattened V with left leg horizontal and the right raising towards the roadside and one pair of lowlowlow priced bulbs I bought ( and returned) had the light vertical instead of horizontal :-P Calle ----- Original Message ----- From: "Calle Fallberg" <calle.fallberg@telia.com> To: "Vanagon list" <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, May 17, 2004 8:11 PM Subject: Re: Re: Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs..great or gimmick??? anyone tried em? > > Im kind of a freak when it comes to lighting because of working late and > driving through moosecountry with little or no traffic and have checked a > lot of different bulbs and for me its different from time to time ! > In the winter whith all the snow reflecting the light I prefere to use the > bluecoated H4 (General Electric Superblue/Euroblue) together with matching > H1/H3 bulbs in the floodlights OR yellowish ( Philips Allweather or Osram > Gold) all around but in the summer I like Philips Premium or GE Megalight > both said to put out 40 - 60 % more light than regular 60/55 W bulbs - > probably similar to the Silverstar ??. > Ive tried all up to 190/130 W H4 but dont like to use them since they have > a tendency to ruin your lights(reflector and glass turns yellow) because of > the heat that builds up inside.
