Hi Doug,  Aftermarket vacuum switches intended to do just what you have in
mind are FLAPS available.  You connect it to your intake vacuum and when it
senses low vacuum, as in full throttle it breaks the contact so the AC
thinks you turned off the switch reconnects when vacuum resumes.
