Hi folks, My 91 Carat with 172,000 gave me the oil pressure light and buzzzzz just last week after just leaving my driveway. And since it sits all winter the lifters were/are clacking like crazy. I replaced the oil with SAE 40 since I only drive it in the hot summer months here in Illinois. Light and buzzer stopped and took it for a 5 minute drive but clacking is pretty dominant on the passenger side. I've had this before and had to drive it for about 20 or 30 minutes before it quieted down. I did take out the van a month or so to get a little paint job repair and had no problem driving it there and back. It sat for about another month and then I took it out this last time...hmmmmmm I got my eyes on the subaru conversion and waiting for a lot of money to come my way - or my engine to break. Which ever comes first ;) I want more power. Been wanting to do this for years...maybe it's almost time ;) Any reason to think this knock is more that just getting oil pumped in there? I happened quite suddenly without hardly driving it... Any advice on determining the problem...or should I just drive it for 30 minutes and see what happens???? Anybody need and engine?
