The holes can be drilled and tapped for the heli-coil with the engine in
place. A right angle air drill is very helpful here. Get am 8 point
socket to work the tap with a 1/4" ratchet.

Subject: Partial engine drop for stripped exhaust stud

I have apparently stripped both holes for the #4 exhaust. Since
everything
else is working fine I would rather leave the engine in, but it needs a
helicoil. There is hardly enough room for a wrench on that corner. Does
anyone know if the engine will tilt downward enough to work there if the
engine crossbar is unbolted, leaving the tranny attached (and all the
plumbing and wiring)?
