...but still, I didnt have the feeling of getting that much moore light out of the 130/90 W H4 in my round lights but the extended heat made first one and a while later the other lens cracking when I washed them when driving ! Never happened with upgraded 60/55 W and there Ive had so many different bulbs to choose from, white, blue, yellow, allweather (yellowish), premium plus..... ALL LEGAL - the megawatt often come with a little "offroad/rally/competition use only" tag and sometimes even requiers snipping of a little piece of metal to actually fit ! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Grebneff" > > ... or to retrofit large round H4s... > > >Nice assortment there ! > >Just beware of putting anything over 60/55 W in your Vanagon, especially if > >you have the square lights ! > >It will give a nice bright light for starters but after a while you might > >get the same experience that I did with reflectors turning yellowish, glass > >that cracked, short life on the bulbs and at the end a wire meltdown! > >The lights on the Vanagon are too small to get rid of all the heat that > >builds up with the more "powerful" bulbs, its a much better investment to > >get the relay upgrade shown f.ex. on Stern lightings webpage and get full > >voltage to the 60/55 W bulbs !
