Sam and all, I am not making a statement about Sam's specific ability to post any viri to the list, just that I am suprised that any attachment at all passed through Gerry's attachment stripper. As far as my security concerns, I use hotmail because it is so good at detecting miscreants attempts at sabotoging my system. After scanning using the web interface, I then download messages to my computer using Outlook Express. Best of both worlds. Funny thing... my cemployer's IT policy strips all zip file attachmnets. And no, I have no clue as to why. tim in san jose ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sam Walters" <sam.cooks@VERIZON.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, June 22, 2004 5:50 PM Subject: Re: Attachments... txt files passing throught Gerry, will zip in future > Tim, and other Vanagon list members, > > This is the second time that I remember where text file attachments that > I have sent in response to a list question have gotten through to Tim > and, I assume, everyone else. 99.9% of the time this should not be a > problem as my computer is set up to check Norton Antivirus regularly > (daily on boot and at other times) for updates.
