When I changed my transmission oil last year, I couldn't find Redline
either.  My friendly, neighborhood VW repair place who has the mechanix with
the waist length pony tail stock Motul--which they said is a Japanese
product.  I used it and all my shifting problems disappeared.  I would use
it again.
