        I have read over the years about squishy brakes on the vanagon.

        I recently began having the opposite problem oddly enough.

        I have never really thought of my brakes as squishy until about

        2 months ago.. when without warning..for  several seconds

        the brakes [ my brake pedal pressure]  WORK REALLY REALLY WELL.

        It is like a whole different car.   Just a light tap - lotsa stop
power..

        and then it is back to regular performance.  Happens once every two

        weeks now without any reason I can detect.

        I guess I have been a Squishy the whole time and did not realize.

        I would love to track down this behavior source. But the twice a
month

        occurance and no actual problems with the brakes makes it difficult.

        Any input would be appreciated.
