Many people believe that 67 was a good year because of the increased
power, 12 volt electrical, new headlights/old bumper configuration. I
prefer anything before 67. Power is an easy, affordable upgrade in
Beetles. And I argue that Super Beetles with their MacPherson strut
suspension actually handle BETTER than standard Beetles. Also got more
cargo space due to the strut redesign.
