Folks,

My friend's wife and kids are traveling West on a vacation in their '87
Westy. She just called in from Wall South Dakota and reports she can no
longer get the van to shift into fourth gear. Transmission seems fine
in all other gears.

Shifter linkage? Broken shifter fork?

Bottom line: anybody know ANY VW mechs in Wall or Rapid City South
Dakota. While not life threatening, this stands to be a HUGE emotional
problem for all concerned.

Any idea or help would be greatly appreciated.
