Having owned the 2.0 air-cooled, the 1.9 wasserboxer and the 1.6
diesel, I have to say that the best one of the bunch is the diesel.
It's real hard to argue with 30 mpg.

It's not as 'plush' as the later Vanagons, but it does everything that
they'll do. (Add a 1.9 motor and it'll even keep up with traffic.)
