It will work, but it takes up a ton of space even when packed down. By
comparison our Ezy-Awning is only gym-bag-sized when packed up for
easier storage and transportation. Also optional sand-weighted feet are
available which won't rip and get sand in your van like sand bags (and
require no teathering because the feet of the awning just slip through
them and then hinge underneath).
