First, a disclaimer: I am not bashing RVing or RVers. This is strictly a
personal opinion and choice. I've tried several times and have decided it's
not for me.

That being said, what don't I like:

Well... driving it for one. I prefer to visit obscure locations and the RVs
are just too big to comfortably navigate on a lot of back roads. BTW: the
motor home we used last week was 27' and there were three occasions where I
had to back it up to make it around tight turns.

Next, I don't like the tendency to "hang out" inside the motor home. We
just seem to have more fun when we tent it.

Lastly, most (not all) RV parks suck. It's like a tenement complex for
vehicles with rows of RVs parked 10 feet from each other.

Cheers,

Jeff

So exactly what part of RVing do you not like? I keep the FUN BUS close
behind me in case I get the urge to rough it after driving the
Tropi-Cal.

Subject: Back from the Cali North Coast, Westies & RVs

Just got back from a nice camping trip on the Northern California coast
and
I've discovered two truths (for me that is):

1) The Vanagon is alive and well in upper Northern California. Not
just
Westies either. I saw plenty of standard T3 "drivers" on the highway
and in
parking lots all along the coast.

2) I hate RVs. This was the 3rd (and last time) that I've RV'd it and
I
just don't like it. Next week I'm putting a jump seat into the Westy so
that it will accomodate 5 people. One Westy and one tent will do quite
nicely from now on.

Cheers,

Jeff
