Yeah, well I dont know for sure... These were the numbers I was given when I checked the thing . Then , I guess that if youre somewhere in the neighbourhood no one would go berserk anyway . I have a Volvoengine thats slightly over the limit but has been approved together with a weird exhaustpipe thats supposed to take the torque down to within limits - but this only together with the carb that I really hate :-( And then you have all sorts of upgraded transmissions and different points of wiew in different countrys - and states too I guess My point was only to make people think a bit of the weak spot when they discuss hi power and torque engines Calle ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Marshall" <vanagon@volkswagen.org> To: "Calle Fallberg" <calle.fallberg@TELIA.COM>; <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 2004 2:42 AM Subject: RE: FYI : 3.3 verses 4.3 verses 1.9??? > I thought the "official" design limit was 200Nm (150ish ft.lbs) of torque - > could be an urban legend, but this the number I keep on hearing get tossed > around in Germany by the people who install TDIs.
