May I suggest that you go to the type2 list....I believe it to be www.type2.com and go to the AIRS information. This will explain what AIRS is and how to use it. It is a list of type2 owners across the US and Canada...you can contact them and make arrangements to park in their driveway, in front of their house, or at their house. This is to avoid dangerous situations which could possible occur in "rest areas". Please check it out. Although the AIRS list is for "air-cooled" many members feel that any traveling VW qualifies. >From: Doug Alcock <doug.alcock@HEWITT.COM> >Reply-To: Doug Alcock <doug.alcock@HEWITT.COM> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Rest Area Camping?? >Date: Tue, 27 Jul 2004 09:52:59 -0400 > >Hi gang, > > We're Canadians who do a fair bit of camping in the US. While >cruising the Interestates I keep seeing the 'Rest Areas' with trucks and >RV's in them. Are these safe to camp in?? It looks tempting but some >cautious part of me has always held back from actually pulling in and >going to sleep. Any and all comments welcome. > >Thanks, >Doug _________________________________________________________________ MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail from any Web page FREE download! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/
