This requires some good observation when taking them apart, so's you can put them back together correctly. I've rebuilt my locks due to corrosion. What I found was that, after cleaning all of the surfaces, there are these 2 tiny springs that keep the contacts where there supposed to be. Both of these springs were toast. An easy way to replace them is to cut a spring from a ball point pen in half (fits perfectly) for replacements. I think what's happening is one of the contacts is touching, but the other is not when it's supposed to. Try it out and see what happens. Have fun! -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Bike Florida Sent: Thursday, August 12, 2004 6:32 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: FW: latest problem.... the power door locks Well after finishing my fuel pump, I got about 5 miles of trouble free driving. After parking and locking up, my passenger door will not stop pulling the lock pin down. If I unlock the passenger door, it IMMEDIATELY goes back down. If I unlock it and open it, it pulls back down the instant the door is closed. I guess something is stuck. Anybody got any experience in there? One thing after the other.. Hey at least I don't have a car payment ;) Jerry
