Is the answer to replace the steering rack...or can it fixed another way? If I need to replace the rack...what is the best source? Kevin, there are two common places the power steering fluid leaks. Rusted lines, most common and worn rack seals, less common. I sell a kit to replace those rusty lines with industrial quality 4000 lb steel braided hose for the pressure line and standard hose for the return line. See my _Vanagon Power Steering Lines_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/hose.htm) webpage for complete details. I also sell rebuilt racks, see my _Vanagon Items Forsale_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/sales.htm) webpage.
