I just noticed yesterday a new trick in my van. When I turn on the engine I get a kind of high pitched whistle. Doesn't matter if I'm in gear, moving, have breaks on or don't, have foot on gas pedal or not, etc. - it starts as soon as I turn the key in the ignition. No warning lights coming on, radio off, fans off, A/C off, gas tank full. Any thoughts? I just saw an email from a day or two ago about a transmission whine - could it be the same? But mine whistles whether or not I even have my foot on the pedal, which is different from what David Shepherdson reported.
