Welcome to the list... I guarantee that if you detail the "mysterious
condition", you'll get some information on where to begin. Some of it may
even help. :-).

We do occasionally do "pep talks" here, but most folks only post when they
have a problem... leading the list to sometimes look like one long lament
on the trials and tribulations of Vanagon ownership. Be not discouraged!!!
(at least not until you describe the symptoms, and try any free or cheap
suggestions to solve the problem).

In the course of the time/money spent so far, have you cleaned up the
ground connections in the engine compartment and inspected all vacuum lines
and replaced any that are questionable?
