Not trying to interfere with "bear of a thread" but... I am trying to figure out the purpose of this thingie It's metal part consisting of mounting plate and square post, attached to upper trailing part of sliding door interior with 2 screws.Square post little over 3/4" long threaded on it's end. 83 Westfalia TIA Leon
