My fridge fan comes on during hot days when parked in
the sun even though I believe I followed the
instructions for turning it off: I firmly pressed both
the gas and the AC power buttons after turning the
temp all the way down.

I did notice that the DC button doesn't readily snap
out -- but it comes out with some coaxing -- so I'm
wondering if something is broken. Ideas? Fixes?
