The fan only comes on when the ambient is warm enough and the condensor fin temperature on the back triggers the bi-metal switch. You want to place your ear next to the vent on the left side of the stove/fridge cabinet on a hot day. If you never hear it run you should consider pulling the fridge to check as it may be dead long ago. - Vince http://gipsyflies.home.comcast.net 1989 Vanagon GL Camper 1993 Mazda Miata (for sale) 1996 Land Rover Discovery 2005 Mini Cooper S -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of William Alexander Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 6:29 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Westy fridge fan newbie question I haven't seen a reference for a fan with regard to the fridge in my '87 westy - anyone out there know if they all have a fan? I've never heard it turn on... William in Roanoke, Va
