Craig,

1/ Get a new AFM and don't yield to the temptation to open it up.
2/ Check and clean every electrical connection, especially grounds, in the
engine bay.
3/ ADJUST THE THROTTLE POSITION SWITCHES.

Then, go about your troubleshooting.
