Howdy All, I know that this has no Vanagon content, but our VWs are cousins of all Porsches, especially the early models. For that reason we should show respect. Let this be a reminder to always drive carefully. If you are ever stuck on train tracks, try to get off, but dont waste too much time. If you are good and stuck, get the heck out of your vehicle and RUN at a 45 degree angle from the tracks, toward the train. This will be your best strategy to avoid injury from flying debris or a derailing train. If you love cars, especially Porsches, the following link will make you very, very sad. Just happened over the weekend. Follow the thread until you get to the photos. After the photos, there is a further link to more pictures of the carnage. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=c421e4417efdfb6bb01762eaa3bcec6c&threadid=182285 If the link doesn't work, go to: www.pelicanparts.com click on: Porsche scroll down to the bottom and click on "The 911 Series" under Technical Forums scroll down and click on "Porsche Bulletin Board" scroll down to the thread titled, "Holy Cow - Train Wreck...." Make sure you are sitting down Drive Carefully, Bruce motorbruce
