A brilliant and straightforward solution to the problem of increasing the
friction on the lower pivot of the window wing has been suggested to me by Lister
Alistair Bell: drill an access hole directly over the screw location.  Now,
if you have to ask exactly where to locate the hole, perhaps you should think
again about doing this.
