Thank you, Jim! You are right on both counts. Indeed, there is only one aftermarket manufacturer of Vanagon gas tanks, so the same tank is actually sold by hundreds of other vendors. No matter where you buy one (besides the VW dealer) it will be this tank. And yes, I have sold hundreds of these over many years without any problems (as have the other vendors). There are many Vanagon parts out there which I simply won't sell because the fit or quality is poor, but this is not one of them. (Not that Michael couldn't have gotten a defective one, of course; this can happen with any product.) It's worth noting that at around $150, the aftermarket tank is priced about the same as a used junkyard tank (whereas a new VW tank is close to $500). While I wouldn't claim it to be identical in quality to the $500 dealer part, I'd choose it over a twenty year old, already-half-rusted junkyard tank in a heartbeat. - Ron Salmon The Bus Depot, Inc. www.busdepot.com (215) 234-VWVW _____________________________________________ Toll-Free for Orders by PART # : 1-866-BUS-DEPOT
